Ambulance Services

Ambulance Service

Lebanon Fire District runs an ALS ambulance service that provides advanced life support service to the citizens in our ambulance service area (ASA).  Additional emergency apparatus is available when needed, both from LFD and mutual aid agreements with our surrounding partners.

Current Rates

Ambulance service in Lebanon is funded from user fees.  When a patient utilizes ambulance services, they are billed for the service. Their payment, or payment from their third-party insurance, funds the ambulance service in our community.  Ambulance rates are set by ordinance on a periodic basis.  See Fee Schedule below for rates.

If you need transport…

Dial 911.  The ambulance is dispatched through the Linn County 911 system.  An ambulance is dispatched based on an ambulance service area, which is designated by the county.

Transport destinations are based upon your condition at the time of the call, your best interest, the closest appropriate facility, medical direction from the hospital, and lastly, your preference.

Treatment without transport

Occasionally, we may provide treatment without transport, such as starting an IV or providing medications like dextrose for a diabetic patient, or Albuterol for respiratory distress. Those encounters will be charged as an aid call, which is at a reduced rate from ambulance transport.

Paying your ambulance bill

LFD provides professional billing services for your ambulance transport.  Please contact our billing office at 541-451-6123 to confirm insurance information or to make financial arrangements.  Additionally, you may consider a FireMed membership to help reduce costs. FireMed is a membership program designed to provide affordable ambulance service to the community.  It is not insurance, but is a prepaid coverage benefit in addition to any health insurance you may have.  Membership provides coverage for your entire household (see application for further membership details).  FireMed covers members in our district as well as in other cities in Oregon that have FireMed programs.  For further details and Membership Sign-up, visit our FIREMED page.
