TO ESTABLISH A HIRING LIST FOR ENTRY LEVEL & LATERAL SINGLE ROLE MEDIC-PARAMEDIC

 

The Lebanon Fire District is accepting applications for the SINGLE ROLE – PARAMEDIC position. Applications are accepted year-round.  Applicants that successfully pass the screening process will receive advance notification and be invited to Civil Service testing.  Successful candidates will be placed on the eligibility list.  The list may be retained for up to 12 months for future openings, or until exhausted.

OPENING DATE:         April 29, 2024

REVIEW DATE:       Applications will be reviewed as qualified applications are received.

ANNUAL SALARY:       Starting salary based on experience.

  • Entry Level Paramedic:  $47,676 - $60,840
  • Lateral Paramedic:  $50,064 - $60,840

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

The Single Role Medic/EMT is a class found in the Fire District, responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency medical responses including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and medical transports and performs other related Fire District activities in the community as required.

Typical examples of work include responding to medical emergencies, medical facility patient transfers, motor vehicle collisions, and other requests for medical assistance. Provides emergency medical care at the level authorized in the Linn County Clinical Guidelines, completing pre-hospital care reports, and other forms as required. Maintains vehicles and EMS equipment, maintains education requirements necessary for State of Oregon Paramedic.

LATERAL REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for a lateral Paramedic position the applicant must have (1) year of full-time employment experience in the role of Paramedic.

The Lebanon Fire District is a combination career and volunteer fire district. We provide 134 square miles of fire protection and 416 square miles of EMS protection in and around the Lebanon area and the Mid-Willamette Valley of Oregon.  We operate out of five stations, two of which are staffed 24/7, and three additional volunteer stations. The Fire District population is 29,000 and the Ambulance Service Area population is 38,000. We are a family-oriented department currently employing 43 career personnel and approximately 55 volunteers. In 2023 we ran 6,804 calls for service.
