Planning & Construction Requirements

Building plans

The Lebanon Fire District requires fire plan reviews, site plan reviews, land use reviews, and technical reviews for residential and commercial development within the City of Lebanon and areas served by the Lebanon Fire District within Linn County as required by the Oregon Fire Code.

The plan review process is as follows:

  1. Initiate the planning process with the proper Planning Department (City of Lebanon or Linn County).
  2. Download and review (link below) our development FAQ document, the "Linn Benton Fire Protection Guide" for fire access and water requirements and design samples.
  3. Submit a set of scaled plans or drawings along with a completed LFD Plan Review Application Form (link below) to the LFD Administration Office, via mail to 1050 W. Oak Street, Lebanon or in person at 550 S Main St, Suite 202, Lebanon, OR 97355.
  4. Pay the plan review fee at time of application.

Plans are reviewed by the Lebanon Fire Marshal and are typically ready for pickup within 5 business days of submission. Applicable local and state fire code requirements will be provided to applicants and the appropriate jurisdiction in the form of a letter or checklist.  All Oregon Fire Code requirements must be addressed and met prior to receiving a Certificate of Occupancy from the Building Official.

Large Homes Requirements: To meet the fire flow requirements of the Oregon Fire Code some large  homes built outside of the City of Lebanon municipal water system may require additional onsite fire water or the use of alternate materials and methods of fire protection. The Lebanon Fire Marshal may request a certified architect or designer's plans detailing your home's cubic volume. For more information please contact the Fire Marshal's office.
